A fun pumpkin card just in time for Halloween

Here with my first project using dies that come from the Dies R Us store.

I love using dies on my cards and this Cinderella's pumpkin die by Cheery Lynn was just perfect for this card.  I also used the Elegant Scrollwork die by Memory Box.

Elegant Scrollwork

Cinderella's pumpkin

I first cut the pumpkin out using a dark orange that I had in my scrap pile and then cut a second pumpkin using a sparkly green paper that came from The Robin's Nest.

I hand cut all the leaves and vines from the green and attached them onto the orange.  Once I had that done I glued it all down to another sparkly lighter orange piece of scrap paper.

Next I used a scrap piece of black paper for the backing on the card.

On top of the black is a piece of paper from Harvest Delight by Recollections.

Next I laid down the pumpkin and once I had all the scrolls where I wanted them then I glued everything in place.  I used a tag from Daisyd's Premium pad and cut it down to the size I wanted for the title.

Halloween Wreath

I am so excited to share this Halloween wreath using products from Whisker Graphics.

As fast as the months are coming on us, it isn't too early to be thinking about Halloween. Today I will share with you how you can make a fast and easy wreath.

First I started with this stryofoam wreath and some black felt. I just used the 8.5 x 11 piece of black felt and cut them into strips. I used 3 piece of black felt for my wreath. Rather than using hot glue I used straight pins with black heads and started pinning the felt onto the wreath.

This is the starting of wrapping the felt.

This is the wreath all wrapped with the felt.

Now you start wrapping the wreath with the twine. I used the Divine Twine Metallics and just started winding until I felt there was enough on the wreath.

Now comes the part where you make it your own. I added a spider from the Dollar Store and made the two smaller spiders using my Silhouette Cameo and a little paint. I also cut out the flower using my Silhouette Cameo and put them on the wreath and finally added a bow to finish off the wreath.

Please don't forget to check out all the wonderful products at the WhiskerGraphics store.

Something fun coming your way

I love to alter items and that means pretty much anything. So when I was asked to participate in an altered art blog using paint brushes I said yes.  I participated in an altered paint brush swap once before and had so much fun that I couldn't wait to make another one.  So this is just the time to give it a try again.

Mark you calendar for "The Handyman's Holiday Blog Hop", October 5th through the 8th.  There are some great ladies involved in this hop so I know there will be lots of inspiration.  I hope you will join in the hop and get some inspiration and want to create your own altered paint brush.

How fun to make some Wish Bracelets

Today I am sharing with you a fun project you could make for yourself or make them with your children or grandchildren.

These are called Wish Bracelets and the saying goes you make a wish while making them and then you wear them and when they wear out, one of the beads will fall off and your wish will come true.

These are so very easy and fast to make, you will end up making a bunch of them.

You start with Divine Twine and in any color you want. Then make sure you pick out your beads with a big enough hole the twine will go through the hole.

Next you measure out your twine, I cut my three pieces at 15 inches each.

Put your three strands together and tie a knot at one end.

For the next step for me it was the easiest to tape down the end onto a firm surface.

Now you get to start braiding. Just braid the way you always do nothing special. Braid down about 2 inches.

Now it is time to start adding the beads. Start with the twine at the far right and add your first bead. Once you have the bead on cross it over the same way and continue braiding. This is your choice to do one bead right after the other or leave a little space in between the beads. I did it both ways. Make sure you ALWAYS add your bead on the right and cross it over.

This one was made with a space in between the beads.

Now you just tie the two knotted ends together. Test fit it around your hand and wrist to make sure it will fit. If you are making them with children or grandchildren you may have to adjust to make them smaller.

I hope you will give this a try and have fun making them with your children or grandchildren. Don't forget to check out all the beautiful colors of Divine Twine at Whisker Graphics store
