I don't do many 2 page layouts and this one was a challenge on SNS it was a challenge of your workspace area.

Suzanne's Blog challenge # 35

Take a mini mental vacation. Write about where you're going and why, who you're seeing, what you're doing. Be descriptive.

Since this is going to be a mini vacation, I would like to go to AL. There is this lady that I would like to meet in person and spend some time scrapping and doing some scrappy shopping and just plain sitting around and talking. I have a feeling that if we sat around a pool with a drink in hand that we would talk well into the night. I have never spent much time in AL, just in passing through it so I would love to see some of the sights it has to offer. I am thinking the best time to go would be in the winter--when I have had enough of MI's winter and get a little sunshine down south.

Carla's Blog I love her cards, she does beautiful work. I found her by just cruising around one day. Check her out and see the talent this lady has.

Of course Tim Holtz has to be in my reader: I love so much of his work and ideas.

The Technique Trail has awesome examples and I am still holding out on subscribing but only because right now I don't have the time to try all the new techinques but I sure wish I did.

Bond challenge

for a challenge on Sugar and Spice

in honor of my ex-MIL who wrote us this poem on Phil's and my wedding day, 8 years ago today.

Here is the poem:

“Colleen”

You are very special to me Colleen
We’ve been friends for many years
Living life with smiles and laughter
And sometimes sharing tears.

You’ve called me “Mom” all these years
And I’ve loved you as my own
Blending love and strength with happiness
And because of this our love has grown

Sharing life with you
Was something precious, sweet and rare
We’ve treasured the richness of Gods love
And always willing to share

Do you remember when we stopped at the round bank?
Where you were sure I wouldn’t get lost
Such fun and happy times we had
In a world that held the most

I admire you for what you are
Through spunk and grit you’ve won
You’ve faced each task with courage
And never lost sight of what needs to be done

Mom Upton

Today I lost a very special lady in my life. She has been a part of my life for 41 years and one of the sweetest ladies I know. She passed away early this morning at the age of 91. Her birthday would have been at the end of the month. She got what she wanted, which was to be at home when she passed away. I will greatly miss her and her kind heart and loving hands. This is my ex-MIL and not very many people can say how wonderful their ex-MIL's are but God was truly wonderful by giving me her for so many years. She always supported me and never turned her back on me. A Christmas never went by that she wasn't at my house. She will be greatly missed. Thank you mom for all you taught me.

Kiss my husband is the one I will write about in more detail. I mean how could you not want to kiss your prince charming, the man who makes your heart melt, the man who spoils me rotten and loves me unconditionally. The man who won't take care of his milk jugs and finds them under the covers on his side of the bed and yet at midnight when he is ready to crawl into bed, laughs when he find the jugs. This man who is always talking to himself. The man who every night wants a kiss when I get home from work and before I go to bed and first thing in the morning--how could I not want to kiss him.
