The challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges is anything goes. I used my die to cut out the window, Silhouette to cut out the silhouette of the girl and tree and punches for the flowers. Added a little snow on the flowers and branches.

Christmas card
I used the Christmas card that my daughter and family sent last year and completed challenge #200 at Lasting Memories. The challenge was to use buttons. It is kind of hard to see but along the side I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and embossed the buttons and then cut them out and added Crackle Accents to them along with thread through the holes to make them really look like buttons. I used my Spellbinder dies to cut out the flowers and added buttons to the center of those. Cut up a doily to add along the sides and then added paste to make it look like snow along the sides and on the the flowers. The Christmas tree was also cut using a die and just added some accents to it. Thanks for looking ladies.

Bird and Lace Card
I made this card for a challenge at Reasonable Ribbon. We needed to use ribbon and wings, I cut the bird from a die and then used ribbon and added some thread woven in the holes. The brown paper was made using packing paper misted with different shades of brown and black, I made the flowers with left over paper.

Altered Swap
At Boston Fanatics we did a spoon swap. We were given names to make our spoons and to try to alter it with things/colors that they liked.
I got Allison's name and did this Halloween spoon for her.
I had my husband drill a hole in the top of a tablespoon and then bent it up and filled it with orange beads. I printed the image, backed the image with chipboard and then covered the chipboard with black cardstock. I added a pumpkin and flower at the bottom of the image. Used some black netting and some flowers and lasting made a bow and glued it to the top.
If you love to alter items please join us as the next swap will start August 1.

Thank you.
I usually post card and recipe challenges and here is the card challenge for the month. The first two cards could be used for a birthday or mother's day card and very easy to make. The 2nd one is a Christmas card I made. I used the barrel svg file I purchased from the Silhouette store and made all the flowers using a spellbinders die cut.
My recipe challenge I have already posted but I highly recommend making this lemon pound cake, it is just delicious.
Now head on over to the Kitchen Keepsake Forum and say Hi in the New Potatoes section.

A day with great grandma
This layout is for Phillis's challenge on Kitchen Keepsake and for Southern Girls Challenge blog in which we to use a circle. I used my Silhouette to cut out the background and then used scraps of paper to use behind the openings. I then sewed around the different circles and misted the paper. I used a butterfly sticker that was colored with liquid pearls. The flowers I made from blue jeans and added some lace. Thank you for looking.
Christmas card challenge
The image of the black and white Santa was shared by Carol in our Christmas in July at Boston Fanatics and I wanted to use the image to create a tag for the Christmas Card Challenge blog. I used an svg file from SVG Cuts and cut out the frame and I used scrap paper to make the tag. Thank you for looking and I appreciate your comments.

July Card Challenge
Time for a card challenge at Stick it Down blog.
Here is the sketch we used
Here is my take on it.
I find manly cards harder to make but this sketch made it easy. It has already been mailed out to a male friend who has been having some health issues.
I hope you come on over and give this sketch a try.

Scrap Around the World Blog challenge
This time at Scrap Around the World the challenge was to use this image and create
I used an old photo of my son and daughter on the first day of school. I picked the color blue and tan to create my layout. I used Iao Bella paper by DCWV, the doily is one I purchased at a garage sale, used my Silhoutte to create the blue doily and Spellbinder die cut for the brown one, the hexagons are something that I had laying around. I embossed the greenery and then misted with brown mist. I also misted the paper with a blue mist. The flowers are some I made as ones I purchased several months back.

Son and daughter
I have been working on an album my son gave me to redo and this is a photo of him with his sister. I used the Iao Bella by DCWV, the pink frame is one I purchased in a package last year, the green oval matting and birds were cut with my Silhoutte and the I made the flowers. It is hard to believe they are so grown up with families of their own now.

Challenge at Kitchen Keepsake
This was the challenge: Incorporate a list on your page!
You can use a numbered list, a bullet point list (using buttons/brads as the bullet points), a list of ingredients. Think outside the box! I can't wait to see the creative pages you come up with!
Here is my 2 pager I did for the challenge.
So much fun, I used a lot of rub ons, old stickers and embellishments I have had for a long time. The hardest part was trying to find out how old he was in each photo. Seems funny back when my kids were little I always thought I would remember their ages and now as I get older I really struggle, so if you aren't one who someone keeps track of ages, please do so now. :)

July 1 means some new challenges
Just posted some new challenges at Kitchen Keepsake. My recipe challenge for the month is to use yellow and black. My grandson made this Lemon bread while they were here and it is delicious. I used my Silhouette to cut out the lemons, bread and bread pan.
