Thank you for joining us on the Handyman’s Holiday Hop. Make the rounds and be inspired. The next stop is Roni Johnson--Ink Stains. Anytime you get lost a list of blogs is on D’s Paper Studio.
Now here is my paintbrush, well actually two of them. I had so much fun creating that I couldn't stop.
I started by purchasing my paintbrushes at the Dollar Tree and since they came in a package of two I figured why not give them both a try. I used a mixture that I made thanks to Pinterest and applied that to both brushes.
Once dry I dabbed white paint on top and while the paint was still wet I added some glitter on top. While the brushes were drying I started working on my flowers. I used my spellbinder dies to cut out the flowers from silver paper from DCWV Holiday Glitz paper collection. I also punched out some snowflakes with the same paper. I used Tim Holtz Thinlits flowers (661808) to cut out the little vines.
Now that the brush is dry it is time to start adding all the fun embellishments. I used a piece of scrap netting to layer over the top of the brush and then using blue paper from the DCWV Holiday Glitz paper collection I cut out a big blue snowflake, put the flower on top, added the sprigs and other flowers and snowflakes. Finishing touches were to add some pearls along the bottom and sequins, finishing with a bow and hanging ribbon.
I hope you have learned something new and will try creating your own paintbrush. Don't forget to leave a comment so you can be entered into the drawing.
